TSQ LIVE Summer Friday: Genia

TSQ LIVE is turning up the heat with the Summer Friday concert series in Times Square this season. From pop-up shows with top charting artists, to the trendiest up-and-coming artists hitting the airwaves, this series aims to showcase a wide range of talent across all genres with a strong focus on showcasing independent artists of the New York City music scene. Musicians from New York City and beyond will present free concerts, many of whom will be celebrating the debut of new songs or an upcoming summer album release.

Genia is a force of nature from the high desert of Victorville, California. Her journey began in a garage, fueled by a childhood obsession with Prince’s Purple Rain and a raw need to turn the isolation of her hometown into something cinematic. After her soulful cover of Deborah Cox’s "Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here" went viral on TikTok, Genia caught the attention of Def Jam Recordings, trading her nursing studies and shifts at Walmart for a seat at the table of music's elite.
